
155 Banana Slugs named to C2C All-Academic Team

A record 155 UC Santa Cruz student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 Coast-To-Coast Conference All-Academic team, the league announced on Thursday.
Overall, 76.7% of UC Santa Cruz's total eligible rosters of earned All-Academic honors. It is a 26.6% increase from the 128 Banana Slug student-athletes who earned the honor last academic year. Student-athletes competing in each C2C championship sport earn a spot on the All-Academic team if they attained a minimum 3.20 grade point average (GPA) for the academic year. Only the Pratt Institute at 79.4% of their student-athletes had a higher percentage among conference members.
100% of the Banana Slug women's tennis roster made the list, showing the positive impact of equal opportunity during the 50th anniversary of how Title IX opened more equitable access to education. Additionally men's basketball had 18 of 19 (95%) of their student-athletes make the list, and 88% of the women's basketball team (15 of 17) were honored.
Overall, 950 student-athletes from the conference's nine schools earned the award.
