Welcome to the UC Santa Cruz East Field House Pool!
The UC Santa Cruz East Field House Pool is open year-round and features an outdoor 50-meter by 25-yard main pool with a dividing bulkhead. Water temperatures are maintained between 78–82°F. In addition to our drop-in lap swim hours and Recreation programs, we also host Intercollegiate Athletics and Sport Club team workouts. How do I view current lap swim hours?
Click on the Lap swim hours section on the aquatics page and then scroll to view current hours next to the East Field House Pool section. Please also reference the top section for any future closures or limited operational times. If you are unsure on these steps please give us a call at (831) 459 - 2531 and we are happy to walk you through this process.
Do I need to bring my ID every time I plan to swim?
Yes. All members must scan their UC ID, membership card, or digital member barcode to enter facilities.
What happens if the power goes out?
Lifeguards will immediately clear the pool until power is restored and pool systems are fully checked for functionality and proper compliance.
What should I do if a lifeguard asks you to move lanes?
Follow instructions and move to the directed lane.
Does the lap swim schedule change during the year?
Yes! The main times that lap swim is impacted is during our NCAA swim season which runs from Mid August - Late March. You will notice altered lap swim times during these periods of the year so we strongly advice that you plan ahead and understand what times are available prior to coming to the facility or prior to purchasing a membership.
Are swim lessons or other courses offered to the public?
Yes. Swim lessons are offered to the public either in the form of group lessons or one on one private lessons. Additionally we also offer Junior guard test sessions for kids looking to be fully prepared to participate in junior guards during the summer within Santa Cruz county.
