Seventy-four Banana Slug student-athletes were on the UC Santa Cruz Dean's Honors List for Fall 2022.
The total represents 24% of 308Â student-athletes enrolled for the academic year. The Dean's Honors List recognizes undergraduate students who earn at least a 3.74 GPA while taking 15 or more units.
"It is a testament to the Department that academics comes first along with triumphing on the field," said Faculty Athletic Representative J. Xavier Prochaska. "Once again, the student-athletes on our campus have shined in the classroom in addition to the athletic field."
Of the total, 30 are first-year students. Eleven of the upperclassmen have already been honored this year with Academic All District by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
