ORANGE, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz Women's Tennis Team fell in a close battle with Chapman University 4-3. Chloe Wu and Lucy Yung won their doubles match but the Slugs fell short to the Panthers for the doubles point. Alicia DeWitt, Chloe Wu, and Chloe Khachadourian won their singles matches for the Banana Slugs before falling short to the Panthers. The Slugs will be back in action on April 3, with a match at the University of Redlands.

Doubles:

Alicia DeWitt and Brooklyn Walker fell at No. 3 0-6, but Chloe Wu and Lucy Yung fought hard for a 6-3 victory at No. 1.
Chloe Khachadourian and Meleja Horelick battled a close match but ultimately succumbed 5-6 at No. 2 allowing Chapman University the doubles point

Singles:

Alicia DeWitt earned a 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6 spot while Veronica Miller fell 1-6, 1-6 at No. 5.
Chloe Wu battled for a 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot while Lucy Yung dropped 6-1, 4-6, 1-6 at No. 2.
Meleja Horelick contended but ultimately fell 6-3, 1-6, 3-6 at No. 3 while Chloe Khachadourian battled hard for a 7-6, 4-6, 1(10) - 0(8) victory at No. 4 however, Chapman University came away with a narrow 4-3 win.
