2024-2025 Season - Junior
The leading scorer for the Slugs this season is with 415 total points and a 16.6 average. Started every game for the Slugs this season and led in multiple other categories, including 193 rebounds, 95 free throws made, and a 58 percent field goal percentage, which landed 7th all-time in single-season field goal percentage. This also placed him 4th all-time in career field goal percentage with 54%. His team-leading 159 field goals made was also 10th all-time in single season field goals. First Team All-Conference, Earned CSC Academic All-District Honors
2023-24 Season - Sophomore
Played 26 games shooting 50% from field goal and pulling down 133 rebounds. He leads the team in field goals this season having a season-high 20 points versus Westmont.Â
2-7 FG and 3-4 FT with 12 total rebounds in 10 games played. He scored his first college basket on January 19th against Fresno Pacific, along with a season-high five rebounds and two assists in nine minutes played.
HIGH SCHOOL: First Team All Delta League Junior and Senior year at Pleasant Grove High School. Led the League in rebounds senior year and also averaged a double-double. PGHS Male Athlete of the Year. Small Engine Club Co-Founder. Played travel ball with Clutch Elite.
PERSONAL: Son of Charlie and Michelle Espy. Has a brother Zachary and sister Amber. Says both parents are "equally influential to me. They both go above and beyond for me and my siblings.They are both high achievers and have inspired me to tackle life with the same grit that they have. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate them."
Chose UC Santa Cruz because he valued a UC education and wanted to play basketball at the next level. Hobbies include playing video games, Swimming, and Traveling.
