
Conley Headlines C2C Honors as Rookie of the Year

SANTA CRUZ, Ca. – On Wednesday morning, the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) announced the 2026 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Awards and All-Conference Teams. Thomas Conley headlined the honors for the Banana Slugs, earning Rookie of the Year honors while senior Caden Breznikar earned Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. UC Santa Cruz also saw Joseph Espy earn First Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season while Leo Wagner picked up a Second Team nod to cap off the Banana Slugs All-Conference accolades.

Thomas Conley headlined the team's honors, earning Rookie of the Year after logging 185 points on the year, averaging 7.7 points per game. Conley led the team from downtown, recording 28 threes with a .373 shooting percentage from beyond the three point arc. Conley recorded a career high 19 points against the George Fox Bruins back in December and has nine games in double digits on the year.

Joseph Espy was named First Team All-Conference for the second straight season, starting all 24 games for UCSC, leading the team with 397 points on the year along with 206 rebounds. Espy was known for double doubles this year, recording nine on the season, including a night with 27 points and 18 boards against Cal Maritime in January. Espy averaged 16.5 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game, proving to be a threat from anywhere on the court. Additionally, Espy dished out 45 assists on the year while recording 23 blocks and eight steals. Notably, Espy's accolades come during a year where he became the 12th player in UC Santa Cruz history to reach the 1,000 point milestone and just the 7th player in history to surpass 500 rebounds for the Banana Slugs.

Leo Wagner received Second Team honors in his first year with the Slugs, averaging 12.0 points per game with 265 points on the year. Wagner's 286 points ranked second on the team behind Espy. Wagner also ranked second on the team in rebounds, grabbing 112 boards in his 24 games this season, averaging 4.7 per game. Wagner also added 35 assists, 12 blocks, and eight steals on the year.
