Women’s Golf finish second at Conference Championship

GRANBURY, TEXAS (4/23) – UC Santa Cruz women's golf matched their best finish at the American Southwest Conference championship and finished as runner up for the second year in a row.
UC Santa Cruz totaled 318 strokes in Sunday's final round to finish at 935 for the three days.Â
Mikaela Paracuelles placed sixth overall after shooting a 7-over 79 on Sunday to finish with a three-day score of 233. It was the junior's third-consecutive Top Ten finish at Conference, becoming the first Banana Slug to achieve the feat since joining the Conference ten years ago.
Alyssa Yee scored an 11-over 83 and Gillian Mendoza had a 9-over 81 on Sunday to both finish with 237 and tie for 10th place. Riley Birch had the best round of any Banana Slug on Sunday with a 4-over 76. She finished in seventh place at 234.
Tani Ng was 13th in her Conference debut with a Sunday score of 10-over 82 and a total of 239.
UT Dallas won their second Conference Title in the past three years, finishing with a team score of 914 to win the Conference's automatic bid to next month's NCAA Championships in Florida. The Comets had three players in the top five to pull away from the Banana Slugs.
NOTES:
Mendoza was named First Team All-Conference. She's the program's first-ever three-time honoree.
Yee was named Second Team All-Conference.
