Slugs Finish Second After Three Days of ASG Championships

WHITNEY, Tx - The No. 24 UC Santa Cruz women's golf team took second place through three days at the American Southwest Conference Women's Golf Championships. The Slugs shot +42 on Day Three of the tournament. This follows their +27 and +35 on the previous two days for a total of +104 on the whole tournament. The Slugs conclude their season with a strong showing in Texas.Â
Adeline Truong was the standout performer for the Slugs on Day Three, shooting +5 for a total of +77. This performance brought her up to fifth place on the weekend, just behind her teammate Samantha Shaw. Shaw shot +13, which moved her to fourth place. Olivia Lew landed in 9th after her +13 on Day Three. Maya London was another standout player on Sunday. Her +11 shot her up to tenth place.Â
The Slugs were consistently in second place with Par 3s, 4s, and 5s. The team concluded with the least amount of Bogeys. Samantha Shaw and Adeline Troung had impressive performances on the par 3s in particular, where they both averaged 3.08 strokes. Shaw also had the second-most pars during the tournament.Â
