UC Santa Cruz in second after first round of Conference Championship

GRANBURY, TX –The Women's Golf team traveled all the way to the Nutcracker Golf Course in the big state of Texas to participate in the American Southwest Conference tournament on Friday. The Slugs played an amazing round today.Â
The team secured second on the team leaderboard this day, scoring 314 to be two shots back of UT Dallas, with the tournament still ongoing until Sunday.

Mikaela Paracuelles shot a five-over 77 to place second, three shots out of first place. Riley Birch was one shot back in 6th place.
Overall, UC Santa Cruz got a total of 5 birdies. Gillian Mendoza got 2 birdies for the Slugs. Alyssa Yee, Paracuelles and Birch each scored 1 birdie. UC Santa Cruz had a total of 51 pars, the highest overall of any team.
