Former Banana Slug standout Tyler Trader (nee Stewart) returned to UC Santa Cruz as a Volunteer Assistant ahead of the 2023-24 season.
A 2017 graduate, Coach Trader was on both Banana Slug squads that made the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2016 and 2017. She finished her Banana Slug career in the top ten for both three-pointers made and free throw percentage.
"She's an incredible player," notes Coach Monica Armstrong. "I think she's going to do a great job on skill development and kind of instill that 'Banana Slug pride' that we have here within our program."
A Santa Cruz County native, she was a standout at Soquel High School before joining the Banana Slugs.
