AT UCSC: Enters senior year 56 kills and 29 aces away from topping the school career list in both categories. Was named First Team all-American in 2016 and 2017. Hit .336 with 305 kills with 22 service aces as a sophomore. Improved to .352 as junior, with 231 kills in 66 sets and 22 service aces .

HIGH SCHOOL: Lake graduated from Buchanan HS in 2014. He earned four varsity letters in volleyball. He earned Fresno Bee Player of the Year (2014), Team MVP (2013 and 2014), First Team All-Valley (2013, 2014), TRAC Co-MVP (2014), First Team All-TRAC (2013), Rookie of the Year (2012), Karch Kiraly Tournament of Champions MVP (2014), Las Vegas Classic MVP (2014).

PERSONAL: Lake is the son of Kim and Dave Merchen. He has one sibling, Kyle. In his free time he enjoys playing beach volleyball.
