SANTA CRUZ, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's volleyball team celebrated Senior Night at West Field House on Friday but fell to Cal Lutheran 3-1 (22-25, 24-26, 25-16, 22-25) in a hard-fought match. The Banana Slugs dropped a tight first two sets before storming back to win the third 25-16, but couldn't complete the comeback as the fourth set slipped away. Noy Fisher was on fire with 19 kills while Riley Norman and Evan Erickson each added 10 kills. Caio Valente dished out 46 assists.Â

- Set 1: The Banana Slugs hit .206 with 14 kills in a tight opening set. Fisher and Norman led the attack as UCSC stayed within striking distance, but Cal Lutheran edged out the win down the stretch
- Set 2: UCSC battled in another nail-biter, hitting .205 with 14 kills. The Banana Slugs traded points throughout but couldn't close the gap, falling 26-24 in extras.
- Set 3: The Banana Slugs took control of the third set, hitting a dominant .367 with 15 kills. Erickson was unstoppable, Kyle Ownbey contributed in the front row, and the Slugs cruised to a 25-16 win to keep their comeback hopes alive.
- Set 4: UCSC fought hard in the fourth, hitting .250 with 13 kills, but couldn't complete the comeback as Cal Lutheran closed out the match 25-22.
