Former Banana Slug captain Rowdy Lennon returns to the team in 2022 as an assistant coach.
In 2021 he led the team with 59 kills in the nine-game season. His final year he was also named a COSIDA Academic All District member, becoming the first UCSC volleyball player selected Academic All District in a decade.
He transferred to UC Santa Cruz in 2019 after a stellar career at Santa Monica College where he was an All-State performer. An accomplished Beach Volleyball player, he ranked in the top 125 of AVP players before joining the Banana Slugs
