Natalie Marquardt

One of the most decorated runners in UC Santa Cruz history, Natalie Marquardt joined the Staff as a Volunteer Assistant in Fall 2021 before being promoted to part-time assistant in 2022.

Natalie works primarily with the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Programs and Middle Distance Runners during the Track & Field season.  Natalie’s work specifically with the Women’s Cross Country Team is a key piece to the continued rise of the Women’s program, resulting in their first ever Team National Appearance.

A four-time Team Captain, Natalie was instrumental in the rise of the Women's Cross Country program and back-to-back 6th place finishes at the NCAA West Regional Championships in 2018 and 2019 as well as a top 25 National Ranking. As a student-athlete, Natalie finished her Banana Slug career in the Fall of 2019 as an All West Region performer, USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree, and 2019 ACAA Individual Conference 6K champion.  Marquardt set school records in the 400m, 4x400m Relay, and Team Time in Cross Country for 6K.

"Natalie Marquardt's experience in developing a winning Championship Culture is imperative as our Women's program continues to be a nationally ranked program. We're excited for her to become a mentor to our student-athletes and help build a culture of commitment and enjoyment for years to come," said Head Coach David Klech.
