UC Santa Cruz USTFCCCA All-Region Honors Highlighted by Hofstetter and Klech

SANTA CRUZ, Ca – The US Santa Cruz men's and women's track and field teams were honored with the USTFCCCA All-Region honors, including 41 overall accolades as well as the West Region Field Athlete of the Year and the West Region Men's Coach of the Year honor.

Evan Hofstetter was named the West Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year following a First Team All-American performance at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the heptathlon. Hofstetter scored 5069 points across the two day competition to take sixth place overall.

David Klech was named the West Region Men's Coach of the Year after helping lead the Banana Slugs to two NCAA qualifiers on the men's side with Caeden Gardner in the 800m and Evan Hofstetter in the heptathlon. Klech also led the Banana Slugs to a program-record 20 All-Region honors on the men's side.
