HIGH SCHOOL: No. 1 and 2 singles at University High School Sophomore and Junior year. 2018 So Cal High School Tennis Team Champions, Pacific Coast League doubles champion and CIF doubles finalist.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Named in 2019 Men's Junior College singles ITA All American team at Irvine Valley College. 14-1 Doubles record as number 1 doubles, singles quarterfinalist at Ojai freshmen year. Academic Excellence (2C) Scholarship ASIVC.
PERSONAL: Son of Seiko and Frank Lafond. Has a brother James. He chose UCSC because of the ideal balance between academic, athletic, and social life. "Being close to the beach and Silicon Valley was important to me. I found myself being the happiest here because I can continue to play tennis and surf in my free time."
The most influential person in his life is 99-year-old great grandmother Sylvia Benichou. "Seeing her work ethic has motivated me to push myself to continue to fight towards my goals. She has given me many important life lessons and advice that I use in my everyday life."
