SANTA CRUZ, Ca. - The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's track and field team has qualified several athletes for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 22–24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. This marks a significant achievement for the Banana Slugs, who recently secured the Coast-To-Coast (C2C) Outdoor Track and Field Championship, completing their first-ever Triple Crown on the men's side with titles in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field.
Kenzie Seymour was the lone qualifier on the women's side while
Eric Anderson,
Graeme Maclean, and
Evan Hofstetter qualified on the men's side.
This marks just the fifth time in program history the Banana Slugs will have student-athletes at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This is also the first time in program history the Banana Slugs have sent student-athletes to the NCAA Championship in the fall, winter, and spring with men's and women's cross country, men's and women's indoor track and field, and now men's and women's outdoor track and field all seeing runners at the NCAA Championships. This also marks the second time in history the Slugs will be sending at least one competitor on both the men's and women's side.
