Results

REDLANDS, CA. - The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's track and field teams competed in their last regular-season meet at the Redlands Final Qualifier. The Banana Slugs finished with seven podium finishes in total. UC Santa Cruz is now preparing for the NCAA Championships that will be held in La Crosse, Wisconsin, starting May 23rd.

Women's Highlights

100m: To start things off for the Slugs, Kalee Herd finished with a time of 12.92 for 13th place.
200m: Kalee Herd led the Slugs with a 26.38 and 13th place. Just behind were Mae Strafford and Sadine Martinez, who finished in 16th and 17th with times of 26.49 and 26.90, respectively.
400m: Mae Stafford earned 4th place, running a 1:00.39. Sadrine Martinez followed close behind with a 1:02.59.
100 Hurdles: Eliza Zheng had a podium finish with a time of 15.87, which landed her in 3rd place.
400 Hurdles: Alicia Dasalla finished 2nd in the event with a time of 1:11.77.
High Jump: Eliza Zheng secured 1st place with a successful jump over 1.61 meters.
Pole Vault: Allyson Petersen vaulted 3.21 meters, the second-best mark of the event.
Shot Put: Olly Gordon led the Slugs with a throw of 11.08 meters and 4th place. Semalu Hernandez landed at 5th with 10.78 meters, and Kailey Leba landed at 9th with 8.36 meters.
Discus: Semailu Hernandez threw for 31.82 meters, which was the 6th best at the event. Kailey Leba threw for 23.99 meters and finished in 10th place.
Hammer: Kailey Leba got 7th with her throw of 34.26 meters.
Javelin: Kailey Leba and Olly Gordon were neck and neck with throws of 33.30m and 33.23m for 5th and 6th, respectively.

Mens Highlights

100m: Arthur Gainant finished 15th with a time of 10.73.
200m: Arthur Gainant's 22.00 was 13th at the event. Shiven Karnik also competed with a time of 22.70 and in 23rd place.
400m: Shiven Karnik led the way in 8th place, earning a time of 50.11. Shiv Mohan was just a hair behind his teammate with a time of 50.16. Lastly, Ethan Hackett got 15th place, finishing with a time of 53.93.
800m: Caeden Gardner reached the podium with a time of 1:54.92, which earned him 3rd place. Sean Conley got 6th running a 1:54.39.
110m Hurdles: Shriyan Manjrekar earned 3rd place with a time of 15.90.
400m Hurdles: Shriyan Manjrekar followed his 110 Hurdles performance with yet another 3rd place finish and a time of 57.67.
Long Jump: Jack Richards earned 9th place with a jump of 6.15 meters.
