STOCKTON, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's swim and dive team took second place to the University of the Pacific 191-102 and 198-92 to San Jose State University on Saturday afternoon. UC Santa Cruz will be back in action on Nov. 1 when they travel to Cal State East Bay.
In The Results
The 200 medley relay team of
Medha Raghuraman,
Sadie Breen,
Kirsten Boyle, and
Katy Hawk took fifth place with a time of 1:47.37. Piper Strickler had a strong showing in the 1000 free, taking second with a 10:52.54.
Katy Hawk picked up UCSC's first victory of the day in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:53.01.
Medha Raghuraman was UCSC's top finisher in the 100 back with a fourth place finish in 58.53s.
Sadie Breen took fourth in the 100 breast after touching the wall in 1:06.86. In the 200 fly,
Kirsten Boyle took fifth after turning in a 2:09.02.
Fiona Lei was the top finisher for UCSC in the 50 free, touching the wall in 24.74s to take sixth place. In the 1m dive,
Briseis Valenzuela took third overall with 216.05 points overall and took fourth in the 3m dive with 166.25 points. In the 100 free,
Katy Hawk took third overall with a time of 52.63s.
Siena Ancona took fifth place in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.47.
In the 200 breast,
Kirsten Boyle swam to a fourth place finish, touching the wall in 2:23.88 and later took fourth in the 100 fly with a time of 57.89s.
Honour Dufresne and
Ruby Sanchez went 3-4 in the 500 free with the duo swimming 5:17.66 and 5:17.88. In the 200 IM,
Gretta Bellin took fifth with a time of 2:11.73. UCSC closed out the action with a fourth place performance in the 400 free relay as
Katy Hawk,
Heather O'Brien,
Keaton Canaday, and
Kaitlyn Armstrong combined for a time of 3:35.15.
