
Reitan and Koika Highlight Day One of NCAA Championships with All-American Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, In. – The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's swim and dive teams kicked off day one of the 2026 NCAA Division III Swim and Dive Championships with performances in the 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay. The Banana Slugs' efforts were highlighted by All-American performances from Kyle Reitan and Andrew Koika in the 50 free.

Day One Results
Lillian Wolfinger swam a 2:09.51 in the 200 IM to take 53rd overall while Namya Sarup finished in 57th with a time of 2:10.49. In the women's 50 free, Katy Hawk took 56th overall with a time of 24.26 seconds.

In the 50 free prelims, Kyle Reitan dropped a 19.86 second swim, setting a new program record while earning a spot in the Championship final. Andrew Koika clocked a 20.13 to earn a spot in the Consolation final. In the evening session, Koika took 16th with a time 20.52 seconds to earn Second Team All-American honors. Kyle Reitan took 8th, earning his second career First Team All-American honor with a time of 20.09 seconds.

The Banana Slugs closed out the day with the 400 medley relay, appearing to earn the 16th seed heading into the evening's Consolation final but a disqualification was given to UCSC race.
