PERSONAL:Â Parents are Javier Sanchez, Martha Ortega. Older sister- Yasmine Sanchez. Calls her father the most influential person in her life because "he immigrated to the US from Honduras and built an amazing life for himself. I strive to be like him because he is strong and hardworking."
Picked UCSC because "I liked that it was close to the beach and I really liked the outdoor vibes of the school. I also really enjoyed hanging out with the swim team and felt very welcomed the first time I visited."Â
Out of the pool enjoys going to the beach, listening to music with friends, going on road trips and painting.
- 2023-24:
- At 2024 dual at Cal State East Bay placed 15th in 50 free (27.95).
- Swam fly leg of 400 medley relay that placed 9th at 2023 Slug Invite. Was also 11th in 200 fly (2:32.04) and 19th 100 fly (1:05.61).
