SAN FRANCISCO (4-1) --Today was the last day at the Mike Fanelli Distance Classic for the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs. Many of the Slugs have beat their personal records while also breaking school records!

Relay
For the Classic's signature event - Women's Distance Medley Relay- they all broke the school record! The teamwork of Ash Baudin, Frieda Cedillo, Helena Janku, and Riley Martel-Phillips all contributed to the time of 12:26.95, placing 4th overall. The past school record for the DMR was 12:29.83 in San Francisco last season. For the Men's Distance Medley Relay, Raymond Ingersoll, Carson Nagel, Luke Holland, and Eric Jackson placed 4th with a time of 10:21.51.
 As for the Women's Sprint Medley Relay, Amaya Cummins, Caitlin Donovan, Caroleene Block, and Andrea Gallardo placed 4th with a time of 4:26.66.

Hurdles
Chloe Solumua broke her own school record in the Women's 100-meter Hurdles! Solumua is a Junior and got a time of 15.34, bettering her school record set two weeks ago at Stanford.
Mackenzie Jones, Alicia Dasalla, and Isha Kasanagottu all got new personal records in the Women's 100-meter Hurdles. Jones got a time of 17.33, Dasalla got a time of 18.46, and Kasanagottu got a time of 19.03.

In the Men's 110 Hurdles, Shea Wissler and Sotirios Kougiouris both got new personal records, Wissler's new personal record is 15.70, their last personal record is 15.88 at the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship. Kougiouris got a time of 16.57, their last personal record was 16.85 at the Kim Duyst Invitational. Drew Koesel also got a new personal record with a time of 17.30.

Mid-Distance
In the Women's 400-meter run, Alicia Dasalla also got a new personal record with a time of 1:08.34. The last personal record was 1:10.51 at this year's Kim Duyst Invitational. Bella Sarao also set a new personal record with a time of 1:13.83.

In the Men's 400-meter run, Manogya Yara, Cole Pena, Tanishq Patil, Wissler, Kougiouris, and James Contini all broke their personal records! Yara got a new time of 50.59, Pena with the time of 52.14, Patil's time was 53.21, Wissler's time with 53.35, Kougiouris's time with 54.16, and Contini's time of 54.22.

For the Women's 800 Meter Run, Hanna Hekkanen and Jahari Garcia both got a new personal record. Garcia got a time of 2:36.72 and Hekkanen got a time of 2:19.85.

In the Men's 800-meter run, Carson Nagel and Aaron Hillberg both got new personal records. Nagel got a time of 2:08.42 and Hillberg got a time of 1:56.47.

Sprint
There were many personal records in the Women's 100-meter run! Kasanagottu, Mackenzie Jones, Joceline Ortega-Garcia, and Alex Kaplan.  Kasanagottu a new PR with a time of 13.54, Jones a new PR with a time of 13.74, Ortega a new PR with a time of 13.93, and Kaplan new PR with a time of 14.41.

Field Events
Tetsuo Eng, Tyler Vo, and Nam Nguyen did an outstanding job and contributed greatly! In the Men's Long Jump, Eng placed 15th, clearing 6.17m and Vo received 17th place by clearing 6.05m. While Nguyen got 5.77m, who also did the Men's Triple Jump and got 12.94m.

The Men's High Jump did an outstanding job with Shea Wissler and Tetsuo Eng both placing 5th. Wissler and Tetsuo both cleared 1.74m while Drew Koesel got 1.69m.
As for the Women's Triple Jump, Alex Kaplan cleared 9.60m.

Lastly, in the Men's Pole Vault, Armon Gorgani placed 10th getting 4.05m.
The Banana Slugs regroup and go to Stanislaus State next weekend.
