
Yee places 7th at Westbrook Invite

PEORIA, ARIZONA-- UC Santa Cruz women's golf took 17 strokes off their first round score to finish sixth at the George Fox Westbrook Invite at the Westbrook Village Golf Course.
The Banana Slugs shot 301 on Sunday to finish with a two-day score of 619.
Alyssa Yee finished seventh overall to lead the team. She had two birdies in round two to finish at 1-over-72 and a two day score of 148.
Riley Birch improved by three strokes from Saturday to finish at 153, good for 19th place. Gillian Mendoza shot a two-day score of 155 to place 24th.
Mikaela Paracuelles (163, 34th) and Tani Ng (170, 47th) also improved from the first round to place.
Twelfth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps had two athletes finish at par to score a total of 587, allowing them to come back and edge the host No. 4 Bruins for first by two strokes.
The Banana Slugs will next compete March 27th at the Rhodes Invitational in Tunica, Mississippi.
