
Men and Women finish second at C2C Indoor Championships

Anderson and Baudin named Athletes of the Meet
NEWPORT NEWS - UC Santa Cruz finished the 2023 Coast-To-Coast Indoor Championships in second place as both the men and women captured multiple titles on the second day.
Eric Anderson and Brett Bailey grabbed the top two spots in the Mile to open Saturday's proceedings. Anderson crossed in 4:17.98 and Bailey finished in 4:21.39. Anderson later won the 800m in 1:55.33. Holden Spencer placed third in 1:57.0 and Vance Byer was 4.89 seconds after to take fourth.
Oliver Chang, Luke Holland, and Raymond Ingersoll went 1-2-3 in the 3000 meters.
For the women, Ash Baudin and Riley Martel-Phillips went 1-2 in the Mile, with Baudin crossing in a new Championship Record time of 5:09.92. Martel-Phillips made it a men/women double in the 3000 by winning in 10:29.89. The title comes one year after she was runner-up at the Championship by two seconds.
Hanna Hekkanen was the 800m champion in 2:22.67, with Baudin finishing second.
For their efforts, Anderson was named Male Athlete of the Meet, while Baudin earned Female Athlete of the Meet
Other standouts included:

- Jonathan Stenger was third in the men's 60m in 7.09.
- Chloe Solomua was runner-up in the 60m hurdles in a school record 9.35 seconds. Isha Kasanagottu placed fourth with a time of 10.92.
- Both 4x400 relay squads finishing second with new school records.
