Scouting the Banana Slugs: UC Santa Cruz were selected to a Pool B bid with a 14-10 overall record. Senior Michelle Poole leads the Banana Slugs in scoring with 11 points per game.
Scouting the Loggers: The Loggers clinched the Northwest Conference regular season championship with a 25.2 overall record and a 16-0 record in conference play. Sophomore Samone Jackson leads the Loggers in scoring at 16.7 points per game.
Last Time Out: This is the first meeting between the two schools since the 2014-15 season. They have three common opponents this year in California Lutheran University, Whitman College and Whitworth University. The Banana Slugs have an 0-3 record against those opponents while the Loggers finished with a 5-1 record against those opponents.
About The Coaches:
Todd Kent is in his seventh year of coaching women's basketball at UC Santa Cruz. Prior to UC Santa Cruz, Kent was an assistant with Seattle University. He was also the head coach at La Salle High School in Yakima, Washington.
