Sam Walters joined the UC Santa Cruz coaching staff for the 2019-20 season. He served as the interim coach from March through October 2021.
A former college player, Coach Walters played four years at UC Santa Barbara. He was Academic All Big West his sophomore year while majoring in biology. He played a graduate year in 2018-19 at Colorado Mesa University while completing a Masters degree in Sport Management.Â
A Santa Cruz native, Walters attended Soquel High School. He was the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League co-MVP following his junior and senior seasons coached by his father Stu Walters.
