HIGH SCHOOL:  Team won three straight Metro League titles and three straight Sac-Joaquin titles. As a junior, team was undefeated in the Metro League, won the Sac-Joaquin CIF Sectional Title and played in the Northern California Championship game. As a senior, team went 27-6 and 12-2 in league. James helped the team once again capture the Sac-Joaquin CIF Sectional Title. Team advanced to the Northern California semi finals in 2011. James earned 2nd team All Metro League honors. James was coached by the highly success Derek Swafford in high school. Team made it to the quarterfinals of CIF D3 David’s senior year. Coached by Mike Murphy.
AT UCSC: James played the most of any of 2011-12 first year players. Played in 19 games. Had 10 rebounds and 8 points against Pacifica College. Was 4 for 4 from the floor against UC Merced and scoring 8 points in that game also. Led newcomers in minutes played, games played, points and rebounds
COLLEGE:  James is a 2-time (and tallest) camp counselor at the UCSC Sammy Slug Summer Camp for 1st through 6th graders.
PERSONAL: Parents are Vonzell Pierson and Marilyn Townsend. Has two sisters, Cierra and Genesis and a brother, Ben.
