2019: Hit .183 with 63 kills and totaled 62 blocks in 73 sets played as a freshman. Season-high 11 blocks (3 solo, 8 assist) in 3-1 home win over ranked Dominican, the second-highest single-match block total in school history.

PERSONAL: Parents are Bill Grote and Wendy Lord. Brother is William, and sister is Teresa. Says his mom is his most influential person because "she's smart, gets it done, but always stays positive. She's accepting, and open minded, but rooted and passionate."
