
Banana Slugs Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

SANTA CRUZ, Ca. - Â The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's swim and dive teams were selected as Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

The Banana Slugs, led by Head Coach Matthew Crawford and Associate Head Coach Hailey Garlich, are one of 781 teams from 459 institutions across all levels of collegiate swimming and diving to earn the honor for the 2024 fall semester. To earn the prestigious award, teams are required to earn grade-point averages (GPA) above 3.0 during the semester.

The Banana Slugs men's team posted a 3.55 GPA which is the 30th best GPA in Division III on the men's side while the women's team earned a 3.68 team GPA, ending the fall as the 31st best GPA in Division III on the women's side.
