STOCKTON, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's swim and dive team earned a one point victory over the NCAA Division I program University of the Pacific in a 144-143 dual match on Saturday afternoon. The victory stands as the program's first win over an NCAA Division I program in their history. Program records from

In The Results
The UCSC 200 yard medley relay team of
Greyson Davies,
PJ Fortune,
Andrew Koika, and
Kyle Reitan started the day with a victory, combining for a time of 1:30.08. In the 1000 free,
Dylan Blietz took third with a time of 9:55.19.
Asher Kates led the way for UCSC in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:43.25 to take third place overall. In the 100 back, Davies took second overall with a time of 50.71 seconds.
PJ Fortune was the top finisher for UCSC in the 100 breast, touching the wall in 55.79s. The Banana Slugs went 1-2 in the 200 fly as
Kent Nishida turned in the top time of 1:52.35 for the win while
Jude Robinson narrowly finished in second in 1:52.40. In the 50 free,
Kyle Reitan took second overall with a time of 20.46 seconds. The Banana Slugs went 1-2 in the 1m dive with Eion Hempenstall taking first with 174.75 points while
Trevor Masters took second with 98.75 points. In the 100 free,
Kyle Reitan and
Massimo Reyna took second and third as the duo finished the race in 45.51 seconds and 47.19 seconds.
The Banana Slugs were able to pick up back to back event wins as
Asher Kates won the 200 back with a time of 1:52.37 while
PJ Fortune picked up the win in the 200 breast in 2:04.10. In the 500,
Dylan Blietz was the top finisher for UCSC, taking fifth with a time of 4:46.96.
Morgan Madril and
Jude Robinson recorded strong races in the 100 fly with Madril winning in 48.85s while Robinson recorded a 50.22. In the 3m dive, Hempenstall picked up his second win of the day, recording 139.30 points while Masters took second with 122.75 points. In the 200 IM,
Asher Kates,
Sebastian Santiago, and
Greyson Davies went 2-3-4 with the trio touching the wall in 1:53.63, 1:54.80, and 1:56.20. The 400 free relay team of
Kyle Reitan,
Morgan Madril,
Lucas Blietz, and
Massimo Reyna turned in a 3:02.00 to end the day with another victory, sealing the Banana Slugs' one point victory over the Tigers of the University of the Pacific.
