COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - Â The UC Santa Cruz men's basketball secured a hard-fought 89-85 win over Colorado College on Monday at Reid Arena. The Banana Slugs relied on a consistent attack and clutch shooting to win a tightly contested game. The victory is largely attributed to Andrew Ferrara-Jones and Miles Burrows putting up the bulk of the team's points with 39 and 21 on the day.

Andrew Ferrara-Jones delivered a career-best performance, scoring a season-high 39 points on 14-of-17 shooting, including eight three-pointers. Ferrara-Jones also added four rebounds and two steals. Miles Burrows was a spark off the bench, contributing 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Caden Breznikar recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Banana Slugs shot 49.2% from the field and connected on 13 three-pointers, with Ferrara-Jones accounting for more than half of the team's total. UCSC also collected 33 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass, and forced eight turnovers, converting them into 12 points.

Despite a late push from Colorado College, UCSC maintained its composure, sealing the game with free throws and key defensive stops in the closing moments to earn the 89-85 victory.
