Banana Slugs finish weekend hosting Whitman on Sunday
UC Santa Cruz dropped an 80-62 game against Cal Lutheran on Saturday afternoon at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
The Banana Slugs lost their second straight game and fell to 1-4 on the young season. Cal Lutheran opened an early 12-0 lead and never let the Banana Slugs get on track to go to 6-0 on the season.Â
Freshman Zino Okah had a season-high 9 points off the bench to lead UCSC. Calvin Keyes had a team-high 10 rebounds. Overall, UCSC had a 53-30 rebounding edge over the visitors.
Ridley Ruth and Jason Condron added 6 points each for their first baskets as college players.
Mason Johnson scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Kingsmen. UC Santa Cruz finishes the weekend with a 6pm Sunday matchup against Whitman College at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
