Men's Basketball opens roadtrip with 83-67 loss to Panthers
ORANGE - Tyler Kessinger scored a career-high 18 to lead three Banana Slugs in double figures in an 85-67 loss to Chapman on Saturday night.
Kessinger, who grew up an hour away from Chapman in Riverside County, hit 4-5 from long range. The Banana Slugs (0-2) also got scoring help from Ian McCloskey, who scored 12 off the bench. Avri Finch added 10 along with team-highs of five rebounds and four assists.
Chapman (2-0) shot 31 of 55 from Field Goals (56.4%) for the game, including 10-19 from three (52.6%).
UC Santa Cruz finishes the roadtrip with a Sunday afternoon matchup at Caltech.
