On their way to a 5-0 victory over Holy Names University, Harry Abraham opened up the scoring for UCSC (12-1-0) in the 19th minute.  After a brilliant turn and well weighted ball delivered from Steve Wondolowski, Abraham finished smoothly with his right foot.  UCSC struck again in the 28^th, as Abraham connected with Justin Brock, who found the yard of space he needed between outstretched Holy Names keeper Ricardo Marquez and the far post.  Holy Names (1-4-1) added to their woes in the 30^th minute, when Joaquin Escoto was issued a red card after receiving two yellow cards in 25 seconds.  A minute later, left back Alex Tocco crossed to David Frank who calmly used his left foot to make it 3-0.

In the 33^rd minute, it was Abraham again, taking a ball from Cochrane off of his chest, and turning his defender twice before finishing for his second goal of the match.  Capping off a quality offensive performance of his own, Cochrane scored the final goal of the day in the 51^st minute, when he received a pass from Clay Sorrenson in the middle of the pitch, and crushed a left-footed-out swinger from 35 yards out into the top of the side-netting.

Tocco, Drew Delis, Jeremy Abrams, John Thorburn, Stefan Clemens, and Keith Henwood combined in the back for the two-shot shut-out.

The Slugs have an other chance to keep improving and playing, intelligent, tenacious, and attractive soccer this Friday, October 13, when they take on Division II Program Chaminade University at 11:00 AM on the Lower East Field.
