The UCSC Spirit Squad was founded in the spring of 2025. As the competitive UCSC dance team, they serve as the official dance team of UCSC Athletics and Recreation. They perform at home basketball games, other select Athletics games, competitions, and community events. The squad is committed to building a firm foundation of excellence in dance and spirit through technical training, national recognition, and leadership opportunity. They strive to support, promote, and represent UC Santa Cruz through school spirit, pride, tradition, and student involvement.
The UCSC Spirit Squad competes at the DTU College Classic nationals in Orlando, Florida in the Pom and Jazz divisions. Auditions for the team will be each spring.
