BELTON, Tx - UC Santa Cruz's women's tennis team claimed a 6-1 victory over Hardin-Simmons University on Friday. After claiming the doubles point, the Banana Slugs went on to win five hard fought matches. UCSC later defeated the No 47 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 6-1 to end the weekend.

Doubles:
- Lucy Yung and Chloe Wu dropped a 6-2 in the No. 1 spot, and doubles No. 2 Meleja Horelick and Chloe Khachadourian won a 6-3 set to gain UCSC the doubles point.
- Doubles No. 3 Veronica Miller and Emily Belezzuoli put up a hard fight against their opponents but fell 6-4.
- Lucy Yung beat her opponent as singles No. 2, winning 6-1, 6-2 in dominating fashion while Veronica Miller in the No. 6 spot followed suit with a 6-3, 6-2 performance.
- Meleja Horelick put a 6-1, 6-7 tiebreaker up on the No. 3 spot while No. 1 Chloe Wu went the distance with 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 three set victory.
- Chloe Khachadourian followed behind in No. 4, winning a long 7-5, 6-1, 1-0 set with a tiebreaking clutch.
- Emily Belezzuoli put up a strong fight but eventually falling 7-6, 6-3, 1-0 after a match of back and forth.

- Chloe Wu and Lucy Yung in the No. 1 spot opened the day with a dominant 6-1 performance.
- Doubles No. 3 Veronica Miller and Emily Belezzuoli found themselves falling to their opponent 6-4.
- Doubles No. 2 Meleja Horelick and Chloe Khachadourian won the Banana Slugs the doubles point, going 7-6 and winning the tiebreaking point.
- Carrying the momentum from doubles in the No. 3 spot was Meleja Horelick who put a 6-0, 6-2 match down on her opponent in dominating fashion.
- Chloe Wu in singles No. 1 finished her opponent off in two sets, 6-3, 6-3 not allowing her opponent to pull ahead.
- No. 4 Chloe Khachadourian and No. 2 Lucy Yung both went to tie breaking sets, Khachadourian going 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 and Yung going 7-5, 6-1, 6-3; both of them winning their matches.
- No. 5 Emily Belezzuoli fell to her opponent 6-1, 6-2 while No. 6 Veronica Miller in anchored the team, finishing the day for UCSC with a 6-4, 6-4 match and sealing the fate for UMHB.
