CLAREMONT, CA - The women's tennis team of UC Santa Cruz took on University of Redlands and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and ended the weekend with two hard fought losses. Banana Slugs Meleja Horelick and Lucy Yung put up strong performances and didn't go quietly. Lucy Yung boasted a 4-6 average score over the weekend while Meleja Horelick drove her Redlands opponent to a tiebreaker match.

Doubles:
- Doubles No.2 for UCSC Alicia DeWitt and Chloe Khachadourian put up a valiant effort against their opponent, eventually dropping 2-6.
- Doubles No. 3 for the Banana Slugs Emily Belezzuoli and Meleja Horelick also tried hard to put up a fight against their opponent, but fell 1-6.
Singles:
- Singles No. 2 Lucy Yung had her opponent fighting hard by going 4-6, 4-6 to keep the Banana Slugs in the fight.
- Singles No 4. Chloe Khachadourian put on a strong performance in the first set, scoring 4-6 but eventually falling with a 1-6 set.

Doubles:
- Doubles No. 1 Lucy Yung and Chloe Wu tried to keep their 2-0 score at the start of the set but eventually fell 4-6.
- The rest of the Santa Cruz doubles also met the same fate, losing 4-6, and losing the momentum gained from a doubles point.
Singles:
- Singles No. 3 Meleja Horelick won her first set 6-4 but her next set ended in a 2-6 upset which led to a tiebreaker, that was lost 0-1.
- Singles No. 2 Lucy Yung tried to fight back against her opponent but fell 4-6; 3-6, putting up a valiant effort.
