
Banana Slugs Finish Weekend with Wins Over North Central and Lake Forest

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team of UC Santa Cruz took on North Central College and came out victorious with a 6-1 score. Doubles Emily Belezzuoli and Callie Tzab showed
dominance while Lucy Yung showed impressive control in singles. The rest of the Banana Slugs showed resilience and came out with a win after working tirelessly the day after a 7-0 sweep the
day before. UC Santa Cruz took on Lake Forest College on Sunday and finished the weekend with a 4-1 win. Outstanding doubles matches gave the Banana Slugs momentum that carried over into singles, where Lucy Yung and Chloe Khachadourian won their matches in a show of resilience and strength after a full weekend of tennis.

UC Santa Cruz 6, North Central College 1
Doubles:
- Doubles No.1 for UCSC Chloe Wu and Lucy Yung put up a strong set, scoring 6-3 and gaining a lead in doubles for UCSC
- Doubles No. 3 for the Banana Slugs Emily Belezzuoli and Callie Tzab showed a flawless performance, dropping a 6-0 set to gain the doubles point.
Singles:
- Chloe Wu in the No.1 spot went into a tiebreaker with her opponent, after having a dominant 6-1 set, then being shaken in a 1-6 set, closely followed by a finishing 6-2 end.
- Singles No. 2 Lucy Yung put down two back and forth sets to end 7-6,7-5 to gain a determining win.
- In the singles No. 5 court, Emily Belezzuoli continued to shine, putting down a 6-4 and 7-6 match and putting an end to her opponent.
