
Men's tennis falls in C2C Semifinal

Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia, UC Santa Cruz Men's Tennis completed their match against Christopher Newport with a 5-2 loss in the Coat-To-Coast Tournament semifinal. The Banana Slugs finish the regular season 10-10 while the Captains advance to Sunday's final against host Mary Washington.
UC Santa Cruz won 2-3 of the doubles matches. No. 2 finished with a win for Andrew Tjoa and Adam Hidas by a score of 8-4. In the #1 doubles match, Ryan Lam and Benjamin Wang lost by a score of 5-8. In the last match, #3 Praneet Varade and Radin Sadeghi defeated the Captains with a final score of 8-6.
Starting off with the singles with a 2-1 lead, the Banana Slugs lost at #4 which tied the match. After the Captains won two more matches in straight sets, Radin Sadeghi rallied in the second set to tie at match #3 and keep UC Santa Cruz's hopes alive. However, with matches #5 and #6 also going to a third set, the Captains finished with a win at #5 for the fifth point needed to clinch the match.
