BROWNWOOD TEXAS -- UC Santa Cruz women's golf finished sixth as a team at the 2024 American Southwest Conference Championship held at The Hideout Golf Course. The Banana Slugs finished with a three-round score of 996.
Individually,
Alyssa Yee improved her second round score by five shots to move up to 14th place overall. Yee finished with a three-round score of 234 after shooting a 2-over-74 on Tuesday with a season-high five birdies. Fellow senior
Mikaela Paracuelles finished 17th with a total score of 236. In their Conference Championship debuts,
Isabella Esquivel and
Elana McGrew both carded a score of 263 to tie for 31st.
Yee was named to the ASC All-Conference First Team for her third career conference honor. Paracuelles was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Overall, thirteenth-ranked UT Dallas won the league title with a score of 896, three strokes better than second-place Mary Hardin-Baylor. UT Dallas's Sofia Trevino claimed medalist honors with a 3-under 213 over the three-day event.
