BROWNWOOD, TX. – The No. 37 UC Santa Cruz women's golf team earned a runner up finish at the American Southwest Conference Championship, finishing at +56 as a team across the three days while No. 24 Mary Hardin-Baylor took home the Title at +43. Notably, the Banana Slugs saw

Samantha Shaw named to the All-Tournament team for their stellar performance at this year's ASC Championships.
Olivia Lew earned Freshman of the Year after finishing in a tie for third, finishing just three strokes off the lead. Lew ranks 23rd regionally and No. 92nd nationally and is averaging a 76.8 score across 14 rounds. In addition to Lew's Freshman of the Year honors, the first year earned First Team ASC honors with
Adeline Truong while
Samantha Shaw earned Second Team ASC honors in her freshman campaign.

Leading the way for the Banana Slugs was
Olivia Lew, who tied for third overall with a tournament total of +13. Lew opened with a steady round of 76 (+4) and followed it up with an impressive 75 (+3) in the second round. Despite a few challenges on the final day, she battled through to post a 78 (+6), securing her place near the top of the leaderboard.
Matching Lew's tournament total was teammate
Adeline Truong, who also tied for third at +13. Truong showcased her resilience early, carding a 78 (+6) in the first round. She shined during the second round with a near-flawless 73 (+1) and wrapped up the championship with another 78 (+6) to cap a strong performance.
Jiya Dalal and
Samantha Shaw both tied for sixth overall at +15, reinforcing UC Santa Cruz's depth. Dalal showed steady improvement throughout the event, opening with a 78 (+6), shooting a strong 74 (+2) in the second round, and closing with a 79 (+7) in the final round. Shaw began her Championship run with a brilliant 73 (+1), navigating the course impressively on day one. She faced a few more challenges in the later rounds, posting an 80 (+8) and 78 (+6), but remained a key contributor to the team's success.
Alyssa Castellanos finished 24th at +39 overall. After opening with an 85 (+13) and an 87 (+15), Castellanos put together her best round of the tournament on the final day, firing an 83 (+11) to jump two spots to end the Championship.
Brisa Trollinger rounded out the Banana Slugs lineup, finishing 27th at +44. Trollinger posted consistent scores across the three days with rounds of 86 (+14), 86 (+14), and 88 (+16), gaining valuable experience at the championship level.
