Pacific Grove, CA (3/31)- The Banana Slug women's golf team wrapped up the final day of the Spring Invite posting a team score of 652 (332-320) and placing 9th in the impressive field of 12 at Pacific Grove Golf Links.
Alyssa Yee posted the best score for the Banana Slugs, coming in with a total score of 149 (75-74) and landing her in 11th place out of all individuals. The senior had four birdies in Sunday's second round.
As for the other Banana Slugs,
Mikaela Paracuelles finished tied for 48th with a score of 166 (82-84).
Isabella Esquivel finished 54th scoring a 168 (87-81).
Elana McGrew finished 58th with a score of 169 (88-81). The team's twelve stroke improvement from Saturday moved the Banana Slugs up one place from Saturday.
"I'm really grateful for the opportunity. We had really great weather and I drained some putts to save par," Paracuelles said. "We spent the last four years here, I'm very grateful that Pacific Grove is our home course."
Pomona-Pitzer took the team title by six strokes over rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Andrea York of Redlands took the individual title with a score of 139, including a five-under 67 on Sunday.Â
The Banana Slugs are back in action April 15-16 at the Emory Invite.Â
