SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA - In their first action of the spring, UC Santa Cruz women's golf finished ninth at the Westbrook Invitational at The Lakes. The Banana Slugs had a team score of 639 strokes.
Alyssa Yee was the top individual performer this weekend, finishing in 19th with a 7-over 149. Yee shot a 75 on Sunday, with five birdies.
Jiya Dalal finished 29th and had a 12-over-154 on the weekend, including a stretch of seven pars in a row to open Sunday.
Mikaela Paracuelles was 52nd with a 24-over-166.
Isabella Esquivel (28 over-170, 60th) and
Elana McGrew (34-over-176, 63rd) completed the Banana Slug contingent.
No. 7 Redlands won the team title by two strokes over sixth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps who were in the lead after yesterday. George Fox's Makensie Toole won the individual title by one stroke ahead of Redlands's Iris Liu.
The Banana Slugs are next in action March 30th-31st when they host their annual Spring Invite at Pacific Grove.
