Men's Tennis takes on Pomona-Pitzer and Caltech

UC Santa Cruz opened their three-game road trip with a pair of dual losses to ranked teams.
The Banana Slugs dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 27 Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday before losing to No. 18 Caltech on Sunday.
The Banana Slugs gave dual debuts to first-years Radin Sadeghi, Mayur Nookala, and Benjamin Wang this weekend. Sunday against Caltech, the Banana Slugs went up 2-1 after doubles. Sadeghi teamed with Jason You, and Wang was partnered with Ryan Lam. Both pairs pulled off 8-6 wins.
Even with the tough losses, the results are encouraging because they showed a tough battle against teams that will figure into the National Championship picture.Â
UC Santa Cruz closes the L.A. road trip when they travel to Occidental on Monday at 10:00 am.
