SANTA CRUZ, CA. – UC Santa Cruz dominated Simpson University with a 6-1 victory on Saturday, extending their record to 7-2-5. The Banana Slugs showcased a high tempo offense, with six different players contributing to the goal tally.

How It Happened
UCSC wasted no time getting on the board, with Camille Anneet scoring in the 4th minute off an assist from Sydney Boyd. The Banana Slugs extended their lead in the 27th minute when Amanda Scott converted a penalty kick. Simpson responded with a goal in the 35th minute, but UCSC quickly answered back, as Tiana Stouch found the back of the net just one minute later, assisted by Boyd. Boyd then capped off a dominant first half with a goal of her own in the 44th minute, giving UCSC a 4-1 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Banana Slugs continued their offensive onslaught. Erin Freeman scored in the 55th minute, and Kathleen Byambasuren sealed the victory with a goal in the 89th minute. UCSC's defense held strong, limiting Simpson to just three shots, only two of which were on target.
