Anneet and Fernandez Score as Slugs Beat Dominican on Wednesday Night

SAN RAFAEL, CA- UC Santa Cruz earned a 2-0 win against Dominican University Wednesday evening bringing them to a 7-2-5 record this season. Camille Anneet and Tatiana Fernandez scored the day's goals and Ainsley Grove ended the game with an impressive five saves. The Banana Slugs played a solid game continuing their positive momentum this season.Â

How It Happened
Both teams fought hard in the first half, each putting up three shot attempts each. However, Camille Anneet secured the first half point for the Slugs after a corner kick, at the 16th minute. As the game continued into the second half Dominican put up seven shot attempts, but they were unable to score with save after save from goalie Ainsley Grove. The Banana Slugs had two shot attempts and Tatiana Fernandez secured a second goal for the Slugs at the 49 minute mark.Â
