NEWPORT NEWS, VA (4/30)-- UC Santa Cruz men's tennis fell to Mary Washington 5-3 in an entertaining Coast-To-Coast Tournament Final held at the James River Country Club.
UC Santa Cruz concludes the season 6-9.
The Banana Slugs opened with wins in all three doubles matches. Top duo Lucas Chen and Andrew Tjoa won their match 8-4. The other two were even-played contests, but both Sam Hall/Andre Mardirossian and Praneet Varade/Ryan Lam won their matchups in tie-breakers.

Mary Washington (10-9) answered with two straight-set wins in singles, and then tied it 3-all on a three-set marathon. The last three singles matches would decide the Championship, with the Eagles coming back and winning another three-set match before clinching the title with a hard-fought two setter.
The Division III NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday with selections for the Singles and Doubles tournaments announced on Wednesday.
