THOUSAND OAKS– UC Santa Cruz men's soccer had a shutout for the second consecutive game, but couldn't find the net and settled for a 0-0 draw at Cal Lutheran.
The Banana Slugs (7-5-2) had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks, while the host Kingsmen had a 15-8 advantage in shots.
Â
UC Santa Cruz's best chance came with just over 13 minutes left, when Adrian Jacobs had a steal at the top of the box and fired a left-footed shot that CLU saved. That began a sequence of three consecutive corner kicks for the Banana Slugs, but the hosts were able to hold off the onslaught.
Â
Kian Van der Meer had a season-high six saves in goal, including a save on a free kick with 1:50 left to keep the clean sheet.
