Women's soccer falls to Cal Lutheran on late goals

THOUSAND OAKS - Two second half goals less that forty seconds apart was all the scoring as host Cal Lutheran beat UC Santa Cruz 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
UCSC fell to 3-11 in a rematch of last November's NCAA Tournament game.
The game was at an even pace the first half. Izel Gutierrez had UCSC's first good chance but her shot in the 17th minute that forced CLU goalie Gabby Flores to make a quick save.
However, the hosts were able to turn the game in the second half, and put two goals past the Slugs in the 70th and 71st minute to seize control.
The Regals finished with a 12-4 shot advantage in the game after both teams had three shots each in the first half.
UC Santa Cruz next plays at Division II Humboldt State on Saturday October 20th.
