AT UCSC: Made Great South All-Sportsmanship team in 2015-16. Played in 2016 NCAA tournament in doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Half Moon Bay High School in 2014. She was a four-year varsity tennis player and was Team Captain her Senior year.

PERSONAL: Other than tennis Melanie really enjoyed playing saxophone for her school band, and doing theater/acting in school plays. She is the daughter of Rick and Natalie Waechtler, and she has a dog Magic and a cat Jack. In her spare time she loves listening to music and hanging out with friends, and she also really loves Harry Potter.
